Whether you are a professional artist or amateur there are opportunities to show your work at the Jamestown Arts Center. The Lobby area is perfect for artists who only have 6-10 works available or who just want to share a sample of their work – a preview. We call it the Member Artist Gallery but we will show other artist’s work if they can meet a few requirements. The art should be framed and ready to hang. The Lobby can accommodate a few 3-D sculptures but 2-D art work is the norm.
We are currently showing giclée prints of animal portraitist Kathryn Winkler. Several years ago, Winkler came to Jamestown to paint the buffalo White Cloud and display her work at the National Buffalo Museum. Her work will stay up through September 3rd.
Another great option for artists to share their work is the upcoming 52nd Annual JFAA Art Show. This show is open to everyone, adults and kids, professional and amateur. Artists can submit up to three pieces and once the show is installed it will be juried for cash prizes. This year the juror is art faculty member Linda Olson from Minot State University.
The registration form and details about exhibition rules can be obtained at The Arts Center, 115 2nd Street SW in Jamestown or calling 701-251-2496 or by clicking 2016JFAAProspectus and 2016_FRM_AnnualShow. The deadline for the registration form is August 15 (if you miss it please call if you still wish to enter).
