Can Art Compete For Your Summer Fun List?

Why not get out of the heat for an hour and visit The Arts Center.  Come enjoy the air conditioned space and take a walk through the coteau without the heat, bugs, humidity and wind. The Capture the Coteau show continues until July 28 and you can experience the coteau through the eyes of regional artists.  We promised an evolving show and to keep it fresh the exhibit now includes the work of Aaron Hexom.  Aaron’s oil paintings capture that all-important North Dakota landscape trait:  the  SKY.

Aaron Hexom’s oil painting “Chronological, Alphabetical, or Numerical: 1”, 2012, 49.5x30x2”. Now showing as part of the Capture the Coteau Exhibition.

Remember YOU, yes YOU can become part of the exhibit.  There is still time to bring in something of the coteau, an object, an artifact, a found object, an inspired story, poem, or song. Bring in something and we’ll add it to the show.

Another option to BEAT THE HEAT associated with the show … it includes a Scavenger Hunt which will keep the kids and adults entertained and looking closely at these great artworks.

Make Visiting the Arts Center part of your Summer Plan–we are open Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 12:00 noon – 4:00 pm.  Admission is free! Our Saturday volunteers love weekend visitors!

Want to make it an art excursion? Bring a picnic to eat in the art park, enjoy the flowers and then visit the gallery.
